How soon can I pay off my credit card?
This calculator shows how long it would take to repay a credit card debt, and how much you'd pay in interest and fees. Enter the amount you owe, how much you'd repay each month, and some details about the card. Then we'll show how your credit card balance will reduce (or grow!) over time.
But remember:
- This calculator assumes you aren't making any more purchases on this card. You're just paying off the existing balance.
- Remember that many credit cards use a different interest rate for balances transferred from another card. So please check you are using the appropriate interest rate.
- The results don't include any other fees such as transaction fees late fees, etc.
- It's just a generic calculator, and real financial providers might calculate things differently.
- Calculators can't give you advice on what to do; you need to make your own decision. If you need advice then find yourself an independent financial planner.
- Although we've tested our numbers and we think they look correct, we can't promise they are perfect.
About the calculation:
- It assumes that you don't get any interest free days, because you aren't paying off the full balance every month.
- It assumes that you make the repayment amount you choose, or the minimum monthly repayment if that's more, plus the amount of the annual fee when it comes due.
- It assumes the first annual fee is paid now, and the next in 12 months' time.
