Aussies look overseas for bargains
One of the best things about owning a credit card is the ability to purchase goods online.
Ecommerce has grown sharply down under in recent years, as people are finding it more convenient to search and pay for items over the internet, rather than drag themselves around the high street.
According to a new survey conducted by WorldPay, Australians are the most likely to buy products from overseas, with more than three-quarters of web surfers looking for cheaper items from foreign countries.
This is perhaps due to the high value of the Australian dollar, which means people can get their hands on goods for a fraction of the price that they would pay at home.
Chief product officer at WorldPay Philip McGriskin said that more people around the world are spending a greater proportion of their income online.
"The appetite for buying cross-border is strong, particularly in the high-growth developing online economies," he remarked.
