More Australians shopping via smartphone

A growing number of Australians are using their credit cards to buy online over mobile platforms, with the prevalence of smartphones making it easier for shopaholics to get their fix while out and about.
However, Luke Atkinson, from advertising firm Leo Burnett, told News Ltd that consumers should be careful not to get themselves into too much debt when engaging in online shopping.
"Whatever your predilection to shopping, you can indulge it … whether it's thrifty or indulgent – you can do that there and then," he explained.
This potential for instant gratification is proving extremely tempting, with 38 per cent of Australians using their phones to compare the price of goods online before making a purchase and 48 per cent viewing products on smartphones.
According to new data from Roy Morgan Research, Australian Apple Mac users are more likely to shop online than those who own a Windows device.
