New credit cards launched by Singapore Airlines and Westpac

Those looking to compare credit cards may be interested to hear details of a new deal offered by Singapore Airlines.

Launched in conjunction with Westpac, the airline has released two co-branded accounts – platinum and gold – which will see customers receive both an American Express and a Visa card linked to a single account.

And when the credit cards are used, accountholders will be able to earn KrisFlyer frequent flyer points to use on flights and travel upgrades with Singapore Airlines and 21 partner airlines.

Subhas Menon, regional vice-president for the south-west pacific area for the air carrier, states: "Given Singapore Airlines is the largest international airline operating in Australia and Westpac one of the largest banks, our collaboration will deliver unprecedented opportunities to thousands of Australian consumers."

Those interested in Westpac products may also be interested to hear that following the Reserve Bank’s April 25 point base rate cut the firm opted to reduce its home loan rates by ten percentage points.
