Older people are looking online to make savings
Article by Mozo
A greater number of older people are now embracing technology – primarily because it can save them a significant amount of money.
Many Aussies over a certain age may have found it difficult to come to terms with the power of the internet, but it seems that they are now learning fast.
According to editor of CashQuestions.com Annie Shaw, older people are the fastest growing group in terms of web usage because they realise they can use their computer to compare the price of goods.
A recent survey conducted by Dun & Bradstreet showed that Aussies are becoming increasingly concerned about the state of their finances and one in three respondents said they would not be able to last a week if they suddenly lost their job.
With this in mind, it is no wonder that households are using their debit and credit cards to purchase bargain goods online, rather than chance their hand on the high street.
"They can save money and the main thing they can do is shop around – it is very easy to shop around online," Ms Shaw remarked.
