Good news for avid collectors of frequent flyer points as Qantas has introduced an 'online mall' at qantaspoints.com, where members can earn up to five points for every dollar spent from retailers that include David Jones, Apple, The Iconic, Pottery Barn, eBay, Macy’s and Booktopia.

Qantas creates “online mall” @qantaspoints.com for frequent flyer members

The news reflects the growing demand for online retailers, with IBIS World research indicating the number of Australian consumers shopping online has increased, with domestic retailers such as The Iconic and Surfstitch taking back market share from overseas competitors.

The Iconic chief executive Patrick Schmidt said the online fashion brand is delighted to be part of the qantaspoints.com 'online mall', “as Australia’s leading online fashion retailer it makes perfect sense to team up with Australia’s largest loyalty program and allow Qantas Frequent Flyer members to earn Qantas Points when they shop."

While members still need to use qantas.com for things like flight bookings, the newly launched qantaspoints.com is designed to help members earn and use more points with the access to the 'online mall'.

Qantas loyalty officer Lesley Grant said the Qantas Frequent Flyer program has grown significantly in the past few years, to include a lot of new ways to earn points and entirely new programs like Qantas Cash, Qantas Golf, aQuire, and Qantas epiQure.

“Qantaspoints.com is designed to help members navigate what’s on offer so that they can get the most out of it.”

“Redeeming points for flights is by far the most popular choice for members, but we’re always looking at new ways to expand,” said Grant.

The creation of qantaspoints.com and the 'online mall' is designed to compliment other offerings by the Australian airline, such as the Qantas Cash prepaid travel card. Search the credit card market here, to find the perfect credit card for your online spending habits.
