The sale that stops a nation: Click Frenzy starts at 7pm tonight

With Christmas just around the corner, bargain hunters across Australia are getting ready to whip out their credit cards for the annual Click Frenzy 24-hour online mega-sale.

Click Frenzy was originally launched in 2012 and earned the title of "Clickfail" after the website crashed, however the second year was labelled a success after a generally glitch free 24 hours.

Now in its third year, between 1-1.5 million Aussie shoppers are expected to partake in the online shopping event, with online spending predicted to reach almost $30 million locally in just 24 hours.

Partnering with American Express, this year Click Frenzy will collate 2,000 online deals from over 300 brands including Bonds, Peter Alexander, Dick Smith, The Iconic and Samsung. Customers can expect to find up to 95% off books, music and movies, up to 85% off brand name fragrances and up to 80% off fashion, shoes, handbags and accessories.

Click Frenzy co-founder Grant Arnott said the online shopping website is proud to be recognised on the international stage. “To be ranked alongside iconic events like Cyber Monday and Singles Day is an honour, and a credit to the efforts of all our partners in making Click Frenzy a successful event.

“Australian shoppers love the Frenzy, and the hype surrounding 2014 is proof that our population has an enormous appetite for online bargains from Australian retail brands.”

Click Frenzy runs from 7pm AEDT Tuesday, 18 November until 7pm AEDT Wednesday, 19 November.
