Mozo snapshot:

A low rate credit card with all the perks of a platinum product, Bendigo Bank’s Low Rate Platinum Mastercard was among the winners in Mozo Experts Choice awards in 2017. If you’re after a credit card that not only offers attractive rates but also makes the protection of your purchases a priority, this piece of plastic is absolutely worth considering.

Key features:

This credit card seriously delivers when it comes to rates. First of all, the purchase rate sits at 11.99% and you’ll also get 55 days interest free if you’re paying off your entire balance on time each month. Another feature of this card is the low 13.99% cash advance rate, which means, if you absolutely need to turn this credit into cash, you won’t be hit with the 20%+ rate that some other cards charge.

All credit cards come with a few fees, but Bendigo has made them manageable with its Low Rate Platinum Mastercard. There's no annual fee in the first year, however once this is up, you will have to start paying the regular $89 annual fee. and if you’re tardy with your repayments you’ll also be hit with a $15 late payment fee. With this card, you’ll pay a 0.50% or $3.25 cash advance fee (whichever is higher) and you’ll also be charged a 3.00% foreign exchange margin to use piece of plastic during your overseas adventures.

Rates and fees aside, this credit card packs a punch with its additional benefits. You’ll get 90 days worth of purchase protection for your precious new toys and if your newly-purchased mobile phone occupies a special place in your heart, you can rest easy knowing that Bendigo are willing to insure both your smartphone and tablet up to the value of $1200.

Who it's good for:

If you’re in the market for a low rate credit card that will benefit you beyond the point of purchase, the Bendigo Bank Low Rate Platinum Mastercard could be the perfect option for you.

Any catches?

Just keep in mind there is a late payment fee of $15 and after your first year of owning the card, you’ll have to splash out the $89 annual fee to keep your paws on this piece of plastic.
