Citi’s Clear credit card comes with a competitive annual fee of $99, a 14.99% p.a. purchase rate, and other perks that have earned this card a 2023 Mozo Experts Choice Award for best Low Rate Platinum Credit Card.
The Citi Clear comes with a low ongoing purchase rate of 14.99% p.a., one of the lowest in the Mozo database for a platinum card.
Plus the $99 ongoing annual fee is also one of the lowest around for a platinum credit card, and if you're a new customer choosing the introductory purchase rate offer, your first year annual fee will be waived (T&Cs apply, offer ends 25 October 2023).
This card has a minimum credit limit of $2,000 and a max of $100,000.
If you're heading overseas you'll be able to use the credit card wherever MasterCard is accepted - which is pretty much at most retailers around the world. But remember, for international purchases, you'll face a 3.40% foreign exchange margin if you pay on your Citi Clear.
As a Citi Clear card holder, you may get complimentary purchase cover insurance for covered items that are lost or stolen within 90 days of the purchase date.
Purchase Rate offer
In fact, customers who apply for a Citi Clear card could pay 0% p.a. interest on their purchases for the first 6 months (T&Cs apply, offer ends 30 April 2024). Your annual fee will also be waived for the first year ($99 annually thereafter).
Balance Transfer offer
Pay 0% p.a. for 28 months when you transfer your balance to a Citi Premier card. After the first 28 months, the interest charged on your balance transfer will revert to the cash advance rate of 22.24% p.a (T&Cs apply) and a 2% balance transfer fee will apply.
The Citi Clear credit card is good for those looking for a card with a relatively low purchase rate compared to other premium cards on the market.
It’s also good for those looking for a lower credit limit, starting at $2,000.
There are unfortunately no reward points to earn with this card. Also, the revert rate (22.24% p.a.) on the balance transfer offer is significantly higher than the purchase rate.

Was recently charged a late fee of $30 due to my elderly mother having serious health issue & being in hospital, I asked for it to be waived as have never ever late for a payment in 5 years & received a NO, disappointing & pretty greedy in my opinion !

I have been a Citi customer for over 10 years but had major issues with how they provide credit since their acquisition by NAB. Big question around their landing practices and I will highly recommend to stay clear from this financial institution.

I've recently applied for a balance transfer onto a new credit card to quickly get rid of some debt. After a few false starts- with my address, I found out ages later that they had access my credit file 3x just for one credit check because my name was incorrectly searched and now it's written incorrectly on my file which I need to fix. After paying the whole amount of debt off, I closed my card and was told to pay the outstanding balance which was the annual fee for the following year. I was told that the amount would automatically be refunded once the account was closed. Not only has this not been refunded, I have had to follow up 3 times to check where this is at and it's been 4 months since my account was closed! This is terrible customer service, I've done this many times with other credit providers over the years and this has never been an issue. It should be the easiest process to undertake. I wouldn't even bother getting another product from this company or recommend to others. Look elsewhere for banks who can actually behave like a proper bank and capable of business as usual activities.
