Key features

One of the best features of the Community First Credit Union n0w card is that you can shop interest-free, as this card has a 0% p.a. purchase rate. Instead, you pay a set monthly fee based on your credit limit: $9 for $1,000, $14 for $2,000 and $19 for a $3000 limit - the lowest fees on a card of this type.

The card has a low minimum payment of $20 or 2.5%, no matter your credit limit. You also won’t need to worry about the usual extra costs associated with a credit card, as the n0w card has no late fees and no annual fee.

Community First’s n0w credit card is the only interest free card on the market that offers cash advances, with a 0% cash advance rate and just a $3 flat rate fee. Keep in mind when travelling that that fee jumps to $5 if you need cash overseas, with a standard 3% currency conversion fee payable.

Any catches

Although this is an interest free card, you should keep in mind that the monthly fee can add up in addition to your balance. Make sure you choose a credit limit that is appropriate for your budget and spending habits.

The n0w card also offers no rewards program. So, if you’re someone who plans to use your credit card for big expenses and want extra benefits like purchase protection and the ability to earn redeemable points, as well as a credit limit higher than $3000, you should probably consider a different card.
