Mozo Review   CUA Low Rate Credit Card Review

Last updated: 16 July 2018.

What's hot:
  • Low 11.99% purchase rate

  • $0 annual fee

  • 55 interest free days

What's not:
  • High 21.74% cash advance rate

Mozo snapshot:

The CUA Low Rate Credit Card comes with all the main features you’d want in a budget friendly credit card: a low 11.99% purchase rate, 55 interest free days and a 0% balance transfer fee for 13 months. Add in the $0 annual fee and the 9 additional card holders you can have and the one of only things you really need to watch out for is the 21.74% cash advance rate.

Key features:

Low interest rate. Sound good right? That’s because it is. With only a 11.99% purchase rate, you’ll be able to spend freely on CUA’s Low Rate credit card, knowing you won’t break the bank with massive interest payments, even if you do miss a monthly repayment or two.

Plus with the $0 annual fee and up to 55 interest free days on purchases, you’ve got a bit of breathing room to get your finances in order and pay off your bill each month.

There are times when you might want to share a credit card account with a family member or partner to keep your finances simple. This card let’s you have up to 9 additional cardholders for free.

If you need to move some debt from another card onto this one, for the first 13 months there’ll be a 0% balance transfer fee. After that it’ll shoot up to a steep 21.74%, so it would be wise to have a payment plan in place to avoid having a leftover balance when the zero interest period ends.

Who it's good for:

The CUA Low Rate Credit Card is good for anyone who is looking to use a credit card for those everyday purchases and the convenience of plastic, without all the bells and whistles.

Any catches?

While Mozo doesn’t suggest getting cash out on your credit card unless you really need to, the 21.74% interest on cash withdrawals makes this something you should try extra hard to avoid.

Also after 13 months of 0% balance transfer rate, don’t get stuck with a leftover balance on this card when the rate changes to 21.74%.
