No matter which Jetstar credit card you opt for, you’ll have up to 55 days to pay off your balance before it starts attracting interest. A few things to remember about this interest free period:
It only applies if you’ve paid the previous and current month’s balance in full
Interest free days don’t apply to cash advances
The interest free period begins when your statement cycle does - not when you make a purchase. If you buy something halfway through your statement cycle, you’ll have less than 55 days to pay it off before being charged interest
There are a number of fees and charges that might apply to your Jetstar credit card. These include:
The annual fee
An annual fee for each additional cardholder
Cash advance fees
Foreign transaction fees
Over the counter transaction fees
A fee for switching rewards programs if you chose to do so
On the Qantas classic MasterCard option, a fee might apply to opt into the Frequent Flyer rewards program
But who wants to pay all those fees? Not us! Check out our guide on how to avoid credit card fees.
The monthly minimum repayment you must make on your Jetstar credit card depends on what your balance is. If you owe less than $50 on your credit card, you’ll need to pay the whole balance as a minimum. Otherwise, you’ll need to pay either $50, or 3% of the total balance - whichever is greater.
Here’s a great offer exclusive to Jetstar: Fly Interest Free. By spending $300 or more on your Jetstar credit card in a single transaction at jetstar.com, you’ll qualify for 6 months interest free on that purchase! Sounds great right? The fine print is that you will still have to make minimum payments each month, so keep an eye on your statements.
You can choose between either Jetstar Dollars or Qantas Frequent Flyer for your rewards program. If you opt for Jetstar Dollars, your points can be redeemed for Jetstar travel vouchers, while Frequent Flyer points can be redeemed in the Qantas store, or on Qantas flights and upgrades.
Check out the table below to see what your rewards point earning power will be with a Jetstar credit card.
How much do I spend to earn 1 point? | Annual points cap | |

I never received any of my Jetstar points as promised from the sign up. I have had a lifetime ban put on my card although card is not in arrears and it was because I missed a couple of payments after the death of my daughter. So I have been trying to lift this lifetime ban for 5 years as I am not a bad creditor, however I just get the same response sorry this is a lifetime ban and can never be lifted. They also send me my statements each moth stating about the Jetstar points that can be gained, I have never received any from the start, they also say my available balance that I can access but really I can't because of the lifetime ban. It's become a joke among my friends and family and they always encourage me to call them just so they can here me discuss my ban ad get sent through to different departments just to hear them say I will get a standard feedback letter sent in 14 days that never explains why the lifetime ban was placed but always states sorry this can't be lifted. It's been going on for years.

Absolutely disgusting! I was waiting for my credit card statement from Jetstar and to my disgust I received a late fee of $35 and interest charges. I have never paid my credit card late! How can I pay trendier card without the statement (and it's my first statement). Obviously this is the way they gorge fees out of people illegally. I will be contacting the ACCC.
