With a People's Choice Credit Union credit card in your pocket, you’ll get a slightly longer than average time period in which to pay off your purchases interest free. From the beginning of your statement cycle, you’ll have 62 days to pay off any balances before being charged interest.
But remember, if you make a purchase after the beginning of your statement cycle, you’ll have less than 62 days. So to make the most of your interest free period, hit the shops early in the month!
When you open your People’s Choice Credit Union credit card account, you’ll be charged the annual fee, which is charged each year on the anniversary of your account opening. However, if you’re under 25 and have an Activate Account or if you have an active home loan with People’s Choice Credit Union then the annual fee will be waived.
You should also take into consideration the foreign exchange margin for if you’ll be spending overseas, and the reasonably hefty cash advance fee.
We’re going to let you in on a secret - the best way to use your credit card is to keep up with monthly payments and pay off your entire balance. Not only does it stop the interest piling up, but it means you get to keep your interest free days.
But if you’re struggling with meeting payments, a short term solution might be to just make the minimum repayments each month. On a People’s Choice Credit Union credit card, this would be either $10 or 3% of your closing balance - whichever is the larger amount.
As a no-frills option, the People’s Choice Credit Union credit card doesn’t actually come with a rewards program attached.
If you’re looking for a card with some rewards earning power so you can cash in on all the freebies and perks on offer, check out these great rewards card options instead.
Good news: You can use your People’s Choice credit Union credit card for a balance transfer and manage your previous credit card debts by paying one low interest rate.
Bad news: Unlike many other balance transfer offers, you won’t get a zero interest period on this transferred balance. Plus, the low rate you do pay will revert back to the higher regular rate after a short introductory period.
The verdict: A People’s Choice Credit Union credit card is probably not the best option around for a balance transfer. Having said that - if you’re paying a huge amount of interest on your current card, a balance transfer could be well worth the effort!
You’ve seen the VISA ads, right? You can use your People’s Choice Credit Union card anywhere in the world that VISA is accepted - which is most places these days.
PayWave is a VISA scheme that allows you to make contactless payments for purchases under $100. Because your People’s Choice Credit Card is a VISA card, you can use it to make payments via payWave.

This bank seems to genuinely care about its customers and every time I've visited the branch the employees always try their best to help. No matter what the problem is, it's never my problem, it's our problem and we work it out together. The only con is that there aren't many ATMs or branches around, so it can be inconvenient to get cash out or deposit cash.

There are too many problems.
Read full reviewThe interest rate has gone up. I decided to move my home loan else where. There is no points system. They also treated me poorly when I went through a separation and had to sort payments out.

Innovative approach to banking that the others are starting to achieve. Always staff on hand if I need face to face time but their online facilities are exceptional and it is only because I am older and used to be unsure online that I have needed personal attention that was freely and happily given. Well done.
