Aussies credit and debit card users 'love eBay'
Article by Mozo
Credit and debit card users' most popular online shopping site is eBay, according to a recent study.
Figures from online analyst Nielsen indicated that in January 2011, there were 5.58 million unique Aussie visitors to the auction site, reports News.com.au.
This was more than twice the number of hits for second-placed internet retailer Amazon, which attracted 2.19 million.
Woolworths was the third most popular destination for buyers looking to purchase goods online with their debit cards, with JB Hi-Fi and DealsDirect.com.au taking the number four and five spots respectively.
Last month, analysis by the Reserve Bank of Australia revealed spending on credit and debit cards overseas grew faster than online purchases within the country.
This comes after the Herald Sun business writer Jason Bryce said Australians can choose from an abundance of credit cards that charge about ten per cent or less for purchases, adding that there is "noticeably more innovation" in the nation's credit market.
