Aussies' online purchasing habits revealed
Store owners have been having a tough time of things lately, as many Aussies have been far more careful over their spending.
The one saving grace for retailers is the growth of online shopping and a lot of companies are finding new ways to advertise their products to Aussies.
According to a new study conducted by marketing provider ExactTarget, Aussies are ten per cent more likely to interact with brands via Facebook than American people.
The research indicated that 55 per cent of the population has some form of contact with a company through the social networking platform.
Around 16 per cent have also used their debit cards to make a purchase based on an advert they saw on Facebook, while five per cent have done likewise after being approached via Twitter.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, email marketing is still the most effective, as 53 per cent of people who have subscribed to a mailing list have bought items based on the advert they received.
