Queensland commuters offered free Go Card credit
Public transport users in Queensland can now apply for $10 of free Go Card credit, it has been confirmed.
The initiative will see 400,000 of the credit-loaded Go Cards given away as a means of shifting Queensland’s commuters on to the smart card, the Brisbane Times reported.
Such a scheme may interest people looking to compare debit cards in search of the best spending tools. Go Cards can be used on public buses, trains and ferries across the regional network and are available in a range of cost-graded types including adult, child, senior and concession.
However, the $10 credit initiative has been criticised by Rail: Back on Track spokesman Robert Dow who said existing Go Card holders should also be credited $10 on their accounts to ensure an even playing field.
"It’s not fair to exclude people who have gone out and actually been a pilot for the system," he said.
Commuters can apply for the credit-loaded Go Cards at gocardgiveaway.com.au until July 11th.
