Times are hard but women won't skimp on hair cuts

Many Aussies have tried to reduce their spending in these austere times, but it seems that women are still willing to flash their debit cards when it comes to looking good.
Salon owners in Melbourne told the Herald Sun that ladies are not prepared to skimp on quality when getting their hair cut and coloured.
Plenty of hairdressers have been forced to bump up their prices in recent months, as the cost of products has increased sharply, but this has not deterred too many Aussies, who are still forking out up to $300 a time in order to get a fresh look.
Artistic director Caterina Di Biase told the news provider that to counter the rising costs, some clients are spacing out their appointments a little bit further apart.
"The cost of everything is going up, but people are always prepared to pay for quality. A beautiful cut and colour is an outfit you can't take off," she was reported as saying.
Latest figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed that overall, Aussies reined in their spending in December 2011.
