With month-by-month options and affordable, easy to understand plans, Belong is certainly one of the more attractive NBN providers around. And our team of in-house experts think so too. Belong has racked up an impressive four Mozo Experts Choice Awards in 2020 to add to its victories last year which included the 2019 NBN Provider of the Year.
Belong is a division of Telstra, making it a good pick for anyone who wants the security of doing business with a big telco but isn’t particularly fond of their prices. It specialises in both ADSL and NBN, but unlike other providers, you won’t find any mention of peak or evening speeds. Instead, Belong lists the typical speeds on each plan so you know exactly what to expect.
When it comes to signing up, you can choose a 12 month contract, in which case your modem and standard activation will be free, or you can opt for a no contract option, which will cost only $5 extra per month (though you will have to pay $60 for the modem). You’ll get unlimited data regardless of the NBN plan you choose.
For those who are happy with basic internet, the Belong Starter option from $55/month could be a great pick. This plan gives you a typical evening speed of 30 Mbps and, as with all Belong NBN plans, you’ll get unlimited data, which should be appreciated by large households or ones with several devices.
While it’s good for basic internet browsing, online gaming, and video streaming, if you’re planning on streaming from multiple devices in HD, you’d be better off looking at another plan instead.
If your household consists of three to six people who are all fairly active internet users, the 2020 Mozo Experts Choice Award winning Standard Plus option could be a good fit. With unlimited data and a typical evening speed of 40 Mbps, Standard Plus allows for HD video streaming and uploading and downloading of large files on top of your usual internet browsing. If you sign up for a 12 month contract, you’ll pay $65 per month whereas for a no lock-in contract plan that rises to $70 a month.
The Belong Premium NBN plan is available for $95 per month on a no contract plan. As for speeds, you’ll get a generous typical evening speed of 80 Mbps which would suit large households of heavy internet users, particularly if they use multiple devices between them. If you’re big on online gaming, regularly upload or download large files, or like your video streaming to be the best possible quality, this is the plan you should be looking at.
If you’ve spotted a plan that looks good to you, simply head over to Belong’s website to commence the sign-up process. Pick your speed and your preferred contract (12 month or month-by-month) and hit the ‘Join Now’ button. From there, you’ll be required to provide your address to determine which kind of NBN service is available in your area.
