'Exciting day' for Australia's green energy

Australians looking for low interest home loans may be interested to read that parliament has set new renewable energy targets.
As part of the aims, some 20 per cent of electricity is to be supplied by green energy suppliers, which could impact on people with home loans.
Some 21 million Australians are expected to receive electricity from renewable sources as a result.
The move has been welcomed by many commentators. One of which, Christine Milne, Australian Greens senator, spoke to Reuters about the way in which the legislation will benefit consumers as well as the environment.
She said: "This should be a really exciting day in Australia, because getting an increase in the renewable energy target is going to be really important for jobs and for the rollout of new technologies that will get us to a low-carbon future."
Home loans customers can make green improvements to their home, according to the Australian Conservation Foundation.
The organisation claims that some 20 per cent of harmful greenhouse gases produced in the country is from domestic properties.
