Lotto winner has no need for home loans
A lucky man from Wollongong has had a great boost to his savings accounts as he was informed he was the winner of an unclaimed prize.
On returning from work, the man, who did not wish to disclose his identity, received a message on his answering machine from NSW Lotteries.
When he returned the call, he was told he was the winner of £2 million, news.com.au reported.
The winner commented: "When I got inside the door the light was flashing on the phone and the thought did cross my mind but I thought to myself, ‘No, I couldn’t have, I couldn’t be that lucky’."
He stated he would be giving up work and plans to use the money to buy a house on the coast with a boat ramp. However, he may not be among those looking for low interest home loans following the big win.
People who are not so lucky may be able to save money on their mortgages by taking out a package deal with their lender, which includes products such as home loans and credit cards, according to Canstar Cannex.
