The world's ninth most expensive street is in Sydney, those thinking about going online to compare home loans might be interested to learn.

Sydney 'has one of the world's priciest streets'

For buyers with millions of dollars to spend, Wolseley Road in Point Piper is one of the top locations to purchase a home, reported News.com.au.

The list of the most expensive properties was compiled by the Financial News, with other expensive locations featuring in the top ten including London's Kensington Place Gardens and Fifth Avenue in New York.

A huge home loan may be needed to purchase the most expensive property on Wolseley Road, which was recently settled with a second instalment of $44 million.

While a home on this street might be a pipedream for most Aussies, the cost of homes on the expensive road fell five per cent over the last two years.

This comes after a survey by Mortgage Choice found that more than half of Aussies looking to compare home loans and buy a property are doing so because of the high cost of renting a house.
