Aussies 'should regularly compare car insurance'
Aussies should compare car insurance because it is a competitive sector, it has been claimed.
Writing for the Sydney Morning Herald, Bina Brown noted that it can be tempting to simply renew old policies when the documents arrive.
However, she claimed that it is an area in which there is some innovation by providers, a fact that might make it worth shopping around.
She explained that the potential average savings could be up to $981 in some cases, a figure that may entice many Aussies to head online to compare car insurance.
According to Ms Brown, one aspect of cover that should be reviewed regularly is whether or not there are discounts on premiums if use of the vehicle is restricted to certain drivers or those over a particular age.
In January, the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries forecast that there would be a growth in the number of cars sold in Australia during 2011 compared with the preceding year.
