Car insurer offers Christmas warning
Aussie motorists are at greater risk of "car park collisions" in December, an insurance company has said.
Claims data released by NRMA Insurance shows that in December last year, car park collisions in New South Wales spiked by almost 20 per cent above the annual average.
The figures also revealed that last year car park collisions accounted for one in seven of all collisions and that Thursday was the most common day for a car park collision, followed closely by Friday.
Drivers concerned about their cover this Christmas could choose to compare car insurance in search of the best offers.
"We understand that Christmas and the holiday period is already a busy time so we want NSW drivers to try and avoid adding extra stress to their lives," said NRMA Insurance spokesperson Emily Gatt.
"We recommend drivers obey the parking rules, take it easy when circling the car park for a space and be alert for other drivers."
