Coles launches car insurance offering
Retail giant Coles has launched a new car insurance product aimed at the mass market.
The company said that the car insurance, which is backed by parent conglomerate Wesfarmers, offers a lifetime guarantee on repairs by authorised repairers as standard as well as flexible cover options.
Customers taking out comprehensive cover will also have their groceries insured if they are damaged in any car accident.
Wesfarmers Insurance managing director Robert Scott said the company was hoping to encourage motorists to compare car insurance and tailor policies to their particular needs.
He told the AAP: "We’re deliberately not targeting this as being the cheapest insurance in the market, it will be very competitively priced but it will offer great value and quality.
"Our offer is aligned with what Coles’ customers want, which is great value and quality products."
Meanwhile, the Northcote Leader reported last week that the Darebin Information Volunteer and Resource Service in Victoria has launched a new "driver mentor" scheme aimed at helping underprivileged youths achieve their P plates.
