Perth 'is a modern city based around cars'
The expansion of Perth into a large city has been in tandem with the growth in popularity of cars, an expert has stated.
Max Hipkins, former planning director for the City of Perth, said in a piece for the West Australian that critics of the vehicles often do not consider the flexibility driving offers car insurance customers.
He suggested that as the country and region becomes more affluent, there is only likely to be an increase in the demand for car insurance.
Mr Hipkins stated that Perth is a "modern city", noting that 80 per cent of the population growth has occurred in the last 50 years.
"Provided we protect the areas that need protecting, our natural vegetation and our wetlands, there is no reason why Perth cannot continue to expand," he added.
Those considering buying car insurance and investing in their own transportation should think about acquiring a modern vehicle as many of these use less fuel than their older counterparts.
