With the option to choose when to be covered and what to be covered for, Range puts customers in the driving seat when it comes to insurance. When taking out a policy with Range you can reduce your premium by opting to be covered for certain days of the week and for certain events. On top of all this, Range breaks down the pricing of your policy. So you can review what you’re actually paying for - you can even see it change in real time, when you make changes!
Does your car get regular days off? If you’re solely a weekend driver, or you only use your car to commute, then this car insurance policy from Range could be for you. When taking out insurance with Range, you can select certain days of the week to be covered. For instance, if you only drive on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, you could select to only be covered for those three days. This would mean that you wouldn’t be covered for Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
As well as choosing what days of the week to be covered, Range also allows you to pick what to be covered for. Options include: cover for damage to your own car, third party vehicle cover, legal liability, theft and malicious damage cover and cover for natural events. There’s also cover for collisions with animals, glass damage cover and hire car cover. With all this flexibility, you really can tailor your policy to your individual needs. For example, if you’re not worried about your wheels being stolen, you could reduce your premium by not including theft and malicious damage cover.
Additional benefits are also available, depending on what main options you pick. For instance, if you choose to include cover for damage to your car, you can also add a lifetime guarantee on repairs, travel and accommodation cover, up to $500 worth of cover for personal belongings and cover for towing your car (to name a few). Cover for lost or stolen keys is available as an additional benefit, but only if you opt for theft and malicious damage cover as well.
Besides all this, there are a number of younger driver excesses to be aware of. These range from $650 for 16 to 18-year-olds to $300 for 24 to 25-year-olds. Another thing to be aware of is that Range car insurance is currently only available to drivers in New South Wales and Western Australia. As well as this, if you want to pay monthly, it will cost you a bit extra.
Range’s car insurance would be suited to someone who only drives their car on certain days of the week and is keen to keep their insurance premium down.
