Q2. What is the age limit for purchasing a travel insurance policy with ANZ?

ANZ Travel Insurance is available for travellers who are 16 years of age or over at the time when the Certificate of Insurance is issued. Cover for dependent children (under the age of 21) travelling with you on your journey will be included under your insurance plan.

Q4. Is there a cooling off period when I can cancel my policy?

Yes, in case you change your mind after buying a travel insurance policy with ANZ and want to cancel it, you can do so within 21 days of receiving the Certificate of Insurance. However, you can only cancel a policy provided no claim has arisen during this period, you have not exercised any other rights under the policy and your journey has not yet started. You will get a full refund of the premium within 15 days of your cancelling the policy.


Q5. Is it possible to extend my ANZ travel insurance policy once I have purchased it?

Yes, you can extend your policy as many times as you like up to a maximum duration of 24 months from the departure date. However, this can only be done before the current policy expires and while applying for an extension you will need to inform ANZ if there is a claim pending. Do note, that if you are over 70 years of age, you are not eligible to apply for an extension.

Now that you’ve had your top questions answered, here are some general exclusions with ANZ travel insurance that you need to be mindful of. Following is a list of general exclusions that are applicable to all sections of the ANZ travel insurance policy. Your claim will not be accepted if:

Tips to ensure a successful claim with ANZ Travel Insurance

You can lodge a claim with ANZ 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Once you have submitted the completed claims form to ANZ, your claim will be settled within 10 working days. To make sure your claim is not rejected based on some fine print that escaped your notice, check out these top tips for things you must do when you need to register a claim:

1. If there is an incident for which you may need to file a claim, send ANZ a written notice as soon as possible to inform them of the situation

2. If you need to make a claim under the luggage section, report the incident to the local authority within 24 hours and keep a written copy of the report for your own records

3. In case of a physical or medical condition, keep a copy of the doctor’s reports and hospital invoices

4. While filing a claim with ANZ, submit your Certificate of Insurance, medical reports, original receipts and any other relevant documents that support your claim
