Does Boomers travel insurance have COVID-19 coverage?

Boomers does provide some cover for COVID-19, however, it may be subject to certain conditions. Read the PDS to find the details and limits of your coverage when it comes to coronavirus.

What other optional extras can I add to my Boomers policy?

Increased item limits cover

If you wish to increase the cover limit for specific personal items, like luggage, a camera or jewellery, you can pay an extra premium to do so.

Cruise pack

If you’re travelling on a cruise ship, then you’ll need to purchase cruise travel insurance on top of your policy. If you do not get this optional extra, then any claims related to any part of your journey on a cruise ship will not be covered.

Snow pack

Snow travel insurance is important if you’re hitting the slopes, and without it, you may not be covered for any claims relating to snow sports. However, it may increase your premium to add it on.

Adventure pack

Boomers automatically cover a lot of different activities under their policy. Check out Boomers’ PDS to see if your preferred adventure activities are covered and if there are any important conditions to note.

Are pre-existing medical conditions covered under Boomers’s travel insurance?

Boomers does not automatically include cover for pre-existing medical conditions, although you can apply for cover of your conditions when getting a quote for your policy. You will only be covered if your pre-existing condition is listed on your certificate of insurance, so make sure you disclose any conditions that you do have at the time of applying.

To apply for coverage of your pre-existing medical condition, contact Boomers at 1800 780 577. They will then be able to tell you if your condition can be covered.

What do I do if there’s an emergency during my trip?

If there’s an emergency, contact Boomers’ 24-hour emergency assistance and claims line on:

How do I make a claim with Boomers travel insurance?

To make a claim, head online to Boomers’s claim portal (through Allianz Global Assistance) and follow the prompts, or request a claim form by emailing travelclaims@allianz-assistance.com.au. You will need to have supporting documents which are relevant to your claim, like receipts, police reports, or hospital invoices. Boomers will aim to notify you of the success of your claim within 10 working days.

Is it possible to cancel my Boomers travel insurance policy?

You can cancel your policy and receive a full refund within 14 days of purchasing it, provided you have not started your journey or intend to make a claim. If you want to cancel after the 14-day cooling-off period, then you could receive a partial refund, depending on how much time has passed.
