What’s included, excluded and other conditions you should know about

Snow activities
Love a winter holiday on the slopes? Ski and snowboard insurance is automatically covered on all Holiday Rescue policies for things like rescue and medical costs, equipment, change to bookings, bad weather and avalanche closures.

Fine print:  While a range of snow sports are covered like skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, dog sledding and ice skating, these activities must be undertaken within a commercial ski field (you won’t be covered if you ski off designated areas or on closed runs). Also keep in mind, if you participate in any high risk activities, like ice luging or hitting up the terrain park, you won’t be covered in the case of an accident.

Cruise
With Holiday Rescue’s cruise insurance you’ll be covered for international sea and shore medical care if you are sick or injured, sudden holiday cancellation and unexpected changes to your itinerary. You can take out cover as an individual, couple or family.

Fine print: Make sure when you apply for the policy you want that you select ‘yes’ when asked if you’re going on a cruise. This will ensure you are getting the right level of cover because it’s not automatically covered on all Holiday Rescue policies.

Pregnancy
If you’re pregnant and wanting to travel, the good news is that you could be covered for the first 20 weeks of your pregnancy on any Holiday Rescue policy, just as long as you don’t have any of the excluded pregnancy complications. You will be required to fill out a medical assessment to determine your level of cover.

Fine print: Once you are over 20 weeks you can still take out cover with Holiday Rescue but it’s limited. Make sure you inform the insurer that you’re pregnant and keep in mind that childbirth at any time during your pregnancy isn’t covered.

Family
Holiday Rescue know that travelling with family is important so they’ve got you covered with family travel policies! Parents, kids and even friends can all go on the same policy and anyone under the age of 17 is covered for free.

Find print: You can have a total of 6 adults on a single policy, with a maximum of 10 people including kids.

Seniors
There is no age limit on Holiday Rescue travel insurance policies or different conditions for people over 65. Just like younger travellers, you’ll be covered for things like medical costs, unexpected itinerary changes and personal liability.

Fine print: Make sure you disclose all your pre-existing medical conditions, if you have any, so that you receive the right cover for your particular situation.
