RBA lifts the Aussie cash rate up by 0.50% in July

Did someone say “rate rise”? This week the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) served up yet another cash rate hike (this time by as much as 50 basis points) to help tackle surging prices.

“In his post-meeting statement, RBA governor Philip Lowe reiterated that while inflation in Australia is high, it hasn’t reached levels seen in many other countries and is expected to decline to 2-3% in 2023.”
