If you need to make a transfer over $10,000 or several larger transfers over a 12 month period you’ll need to provide 1st Contact documentation prior to the transfer to comply with money laundering and anti-terrorist financing regulations. Some banks also have daily withdrawal limits or online transfer limits so if you’re in the situation where you want to lock in an exchange rate but need a couple of days to bring your funds across with 1st Contact you can secure a rate for your transfer in advance by paying a 10% deposit.

It couldn’t be easier to get set up with 1st Contact. First step is registering for an account. This will only take around 2 minutes.

Next 1st Contact will activate the account. At this point you’ll need to provide documentation to confirm your identity. You’ll need a copy of your passport and proof of your physical address. Getting these documents to 1st Contact is easy, you can upload (quickest way), email or fax them.

Now you’re ready to make a transfer. To transfer your funds you log-in and then upload your transfer. You can upload via debit card which is the quickest way, or via electronic fund transfer from your bank account. This can take a few days for the funds to clear in your 1st Contact Account.
