Frequently Asked Questions about Qudos Bank credit cards

How does the interest free period on my Qudos Bank credit card work?

At the beginning of your credit card statement cycle - usually at the beginning of the month - your interest free period will also begin. On a Qudos Bank credit card, this zero interest period lasts 55 days for the premium credit card option, or 46 days for the Lifestyle Plus card. If you’ve opted for the low rate Lifestyle card, that great low interest rate is offset by the fact that you won’t get any interest free days.

During this period, you won’t be charged interest on any purchases - but keep in mind that if you make purchases late in the statement cycle, you’ll have less days to pay off your balance before it starts to attract interest.

What fees might I be charged?

The only Qudos Bank credit card that will hit you with an annual fee is the premium option, but that does include a complimentary membership to the Qantas frequent flyer program. Apart from that, you’ll pay a cash advance fee and foreign exchange margin on all credit cards, and the best news? No late payment fee.

What’s the minimum repayment amount I must make?

It’s always a good idea to pay as much off your credit card balance as possible - that way you can avoid being charged interest and keep your interest free days for the next month.

But if you are just paying the minimum off your balance each month, it will be either $20 or 2% of your closing balance, whichever is the higher amount.

What rewards will I earn with my Qudos Bank credit card?

With a Qudos credit card, rewards are all about earning Qantas frequent flyer points. You’ll earn 1 point for every $1 you spend, but remember that balance transfers, cash advances and fees don’t count, and you won’t earn points on them at all. When you spend on Qantas products, like flights, you’ll supersize your rewards earning power, earning 2 points for ever $1.

Points will automatically be credited to your Qantas frequent flyer account - and membership is included in the annual fee of your Qudos credit card. These points are uncapped and don’t expire, so you can save up and redeem them for something you really want.

You can redeem frequent flyer points for great stuff like flights, upgrades, accommodation or products from the Qantas store.

Can I use my Qudos Bank credit card for a balance transfer?

You can, but here’s the catch. Unlike a lot of other balance transfer offers, your Qudos Bank credit card doesn't come with a 0% interest period for transferred balances. Instead, you get a short period of a super low rate, which then reverts back to the regular rate if you still have a balance owing.

While you may prefer to opt for a different balance transfer which will give you that much appreciated interest free period, a Qudos card might be a good option if you don’t think you’ll pay your balance off in a regular balance transfer period anyway. That way, you can opt to pay the reasonable revert rate on your Qudos card, rather than a high cash rate, which many other cards revert to when their interest free period is over.

Will my Qudos Bank credit card work overseas?

Accepted at over 24 million places worldwide - anywhere VISA is accepted - your Qudos Bank credit card is a traveller's best friend!

Can I use payWave with my Qudos Bank credit card?

It wouldn’t be credit card convenience these days without the ability to make contactless payments! You can use your Qudos Bank credit card with the VISA payWave system for buys under $100. There is a cut off though - you can’t use your Qudos credit card to payWave more than 5 purchases or above the value of $200 in a single day.

How is my Qudos Bank credit card protected from credit card fraud?

Although credit card fraud remains a risk you take when using a credit card to spend, the good news is that Qudos Bank is committed to your security. This includes data encryption and firewalls for your online banking.

One important thing to remember about using your Qudos Bank credit card is that Qudos will never send you an email requesting your secure details, including:

Your internet banking login details or card details

Your passwords or PIN number

You also shouldn’t receive any emails asking you to follow a link to login to your online banking. Emails like this are often a good way to identify a scam - don’t reply to them and let Qudos Bank know about them as soon as you can.
