Aussies among the world's most financially insecure
The Boston Consulting Group's (BCG) latest study shows that Australians are among the most financially insecure people in the world.
Nearly half of the population feel they are struggling to keep a firm grasp on their monetary situation, which is up from just 36 per cent 12 months ago.
As well as harbouring concerns about the state of their savings accounts, Aussies are also worried about their job security.
This tallies with a recent study conducted by Dun & Bradstreet, which suggests that more than one in three households will find it hard to manage their debt over the next three months.
It is quite concerning that Australians have a more pessimistic outlook than people who live in some eurozone countries. Just 27 per cent of Spanish people say they are insecure about their finances, despite the fact the country has fallen back into recession.
The BCG report also highlights the fact that Aussies are going to put more effort into saving money, as they have genuine concerns about the future.
