Aussies prepare for festive bargains
Article by Mozo
Christmas is just around the corner and Aussies are already preparing to raid their savings accounts in order to pay for all of their festive gifts.
This time of year can be extremely testing for households who are feeling the pinch financially and it is vitally important that people budget wisely.
Thankfully, a new study by Dun & Bradstreet has shown that shoppers can expect to get their hands on more bargains than usual in the build up to Christmas 2012.
According to the organisation, retailers are slashing their prices early this year, as they desperately seek ways to boost flagging sales.
Chief executive Gareth Jones said that Aussies are increasingly reluctant to pay full price for goods.
This is especially true when they know they will be able to get the same product for far less money if they hang on for the January sales.
"For businesses heavily exposed to consumer spending, particularly non-essential spending, it's difficult to get stock moving off the shelves without a price cut," he remarked.
