Online banking is definitely one of the best technological developments of the last few years.

It has enabled us to access our bank accounts and savings funds far more conveniently and the days when we were forced to queue up in a branch appear to be long gone.

However, the technology certainly has its flaws and a lot of people are still wary about using it because of security concerns.

For some, entering your private account details on to the internet is simply just too big a risk to take.

Trend Micro Australia and New Zealand director of enterprise products Glyn Stokes told Computerworld Australia that fraud tools have emerged in Europe, which essentially remove the security measures involved in online banking.

There have been no reported incidents down under as yet, but Mr Stokes has urged people to be careful.

"Actions such as creating complex passwords, having a vigilant attitude and using the latest security software will help to prevent online banking crime," he was reported as saying.
