Aussies starting out in higher education may be able to keep their financial situation more stable while studying if they take the time to compare student bank accounts before going to university.
One of the features it may be worthwhile checking on is the potential for extensions on overdrafts, as this could provide students with greater flexibility regarding their financial situation.
Those on a tight budget may also want to ensure they are not paying any monthly fees to help keep their outgoings to a minimum.
Individuals who prefer to conduct their banking on the internet or over the phone may also want to ensure that their chosen financial institution has a good level of customer support for these features.
Checking that there are plenty of branches in the area they plan to study in may also be a consideration.
Last month, ING Direct won three gongs at the Mozo People's Choice Awards – Best Bank, Most Trusted Bank and Most Recommended Bank.
