Aussies 'are losing money by not comparing deals online'
In a lesson that may also apply to those considering opening a term deposit, Aussies have been advised to ensure they check online for the best deals when getting a broadband connection.
Research by iSelect showed consumers are spending up to $141 million too much collectively on their internet connections, reports the Daily Telegraph.
Matthew Cuming, corporate affairs manager for the firm conducting the study, commented: "It's important that people spend time upfront researching plans because otherwise families tend to be paying too much."
More than 50 per cent of those polled suggested that their connection to the web was the most important piece of technology in their home.
Those who are thinking of starting to save money for the future may want to apply the advice here to their finances and go online to compare term deposits to ensure they make the most out of their money.
This comes after a study by Canon revealed that Aussies spent $6.8 billion on gadgets last year.
