AustralianSuper wins title of best superannuation fund

AustralianSuper, the country's biggest superannuation fund, has been awarded the title of fund of the year by SuperRatings.

It picked up the award during SuperRatings' eighth annual Fund of the Year event in Melbourne last night (October 12th).

In a statement received by the AAP, SuperRatings said AustralianSuper offered the best value for money of all funds assessed on both superannuation accumulation and pension draw-down phases on an aggregated basis.

AustralianSuper currently has about $33 billion in funds under management and 1.5 million members.

SuperRatings founder Jeff Bresnahan commented: "AustralianSuper shows the industry how a very large fund can still be contemporary, can still change quickly and, of course, use its scale to provide exceptional value to members."

Consumers looking for good long-term investment options could also choose to compare term deposits in search of the best rates. Earlier this week, David Koch, host of Kochie's Business Builders on the Seven Network, and his wife Libby, wrote for News Limited that there are signs of both rising uncertainty and growing confidence in global share markets at present.
