Aussies may be travelling abroad in huge numbers this year, but that doesn't mean that they are rolling in money – far from it.

Although the Australian Bureau of Statistics recently revealed that more and more people are taking foreign trips, a new survey conducted by Hotwire has suggested that holidaymakers from down under are very budget conscious.

The research indicated that 46 per cent of the 1,800 people who took part in the survey worry that they will not have enough overseas travel money to last for the duration of their trip, the Australian Associated Press reports.

A further 43 per cent are also concerned that they are not getting value for money when heading to a different country, while one in four believe they may have missed out on better deals.

With this in mind, it is vitally important that Aussies search for the best exchange rates before they swap their dollars for foreign money.
