A growing number of Aussies are spending less of their overseas travel money on booze and more on health treatments.

This is according to hotel deals website Quickbeds.com, which has suggested that more people from down under are booking trips to health spas.

General manager of the organisation John Feenaghty said that the level of interest in healthy retreats grew sharply in January and February.

He believes this is because many Aussies want to stick to their new year's resolutions to lead much healthier lifestyles.

"I think festive season overindulgence has played a part and people are trying to start the year by making good on their new year's resolutions," he remarked.

It seems that luxurious breaks are popular at the moment, as last week, managing director of MSC Cruises Australia and New Zealand Lynne Clarke stated that Mediterranean cruises have been in high demand among Aussie travellers in recent months.
