Aussies love a beach holiday, study shows

Australians do not realise how lucky they are to have so many beautiful beaches on their doorstep.

Despite the fact many Aussies have grown up by the coast, beach holidays in foreign countries are still extremely popular down under.

A new study conducted by Harris Interactive on behalf of has shown that although travellers have more options than ever when selecting a destination, people still love sun, sand and sea.

Holidaymakers in North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Australia responded to the survey and it is clear that beach breaks are still king.

There are lots of resorts in Asia that are ideal for Aussies – and your overseas travel money will undoubtedly stretch much further in places like Thailand.

Europe is also a good option. Of course, it costs a lot more to get there, but the current turmoil in the eurozone means you are likely to receive the best exchange rates ever seen when buying your foreign currency.
