Australia still the prime destination for NZ business travellers
Australia is still the prime destination for New Zealanders who are heading on overseas business trips.
A new study conducted by Accor Hotels and Resorts showed that 72 per cent of New Zealand-based workers who need to travel abroad made the short trip to Australia in the first half of 2012.
The study also showed that businesspeople from both countries are reluctant to spend too much on their travel credit cards when they are on foreign soil.
Although many corporate travellers around the world have a tendency to rack up huge expenses when working away, it seems that Aussies and New Zealanders are far more restrained.
Accor Pacific's Peter Hook said: "The survey found that business travellers in New Zealand and Australia are generally far more focused on business rather than pleasure during their trips."
Pre-paid travel cards are ideal for busy corporate travellers, as a number of different currencies can be loaded on to them. This means users do not have to waste time changing their money every time they reach a new destination.
