Aussies have always loved travelling to the UK because of its rich history and plethora of famous tourist attractions.

The strength of the dollar means people from down under are currently getting the best exchange rates for years when swapping their money for sterling.

But which of Britain's most renowned sights are most worth seeing?

According to a new poll conducted by YouGov, the majority of people think Buckingham Palace is the most interesting place to visit. Indeed, the London landmark received 30 per cent of the vote, ahead of Stonehenge, the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London.

Of course, it all depends on which part of the UK you are visiting, so those heading for northern parts of England may prefer to look at the Angel of the North on the outskirts of Gateshead or the infamous Blackpool Tower.

Many of the areas outlined in the survey are either free to visit or very cheap, so Aussies will not make too much of a dent in their overseas travel money budget when embarking on a cultural tour of the UK.
