Czech Republic 'increasingly popular among Aussie travellers'
A growing number of Aussies are looking for the best exchange rates on Czech Koruna before embarking on a trip to the European country, it has been suggested.
According to tourism officials in the Czech Republic, there has been a 5.1 per cent increase in the number of Australians visiting the nation this year, eTravel Blackboard reports.
More people are being lured in by the charming capital city of Prague because of its rich history and huge number of attractions such as castles and national parks. It also has 12 monuments included in UNESCO's World Heritage list.
Director of the Czech Tourist Authority Radka Neumannova told the news provider 6.3 million people from around the globe visit the country each year and tourism revenues are up.
Online visitor guide myCzechRepublic.com advises travellers to avoid money exchange offices in Prague, as they tend to prey on tourists, with many charging high rates of commission.
It also urged people to carry a travel credit card, rather than a pocket full of cash, as plastic is accepted in most locations.
