Emirates has introduced a new service that will link Melbourne with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The carrier announced that a non-stop daily flight between the Australian city and Dubai is now available. It will go on to Auckland once passengers have disembarked in Melbourne.

There are also plans to introduce similar services between the UAE and Adelaide and Perth before the turn of the year.

Recent figures compiled by Roy Morgan Research showed that Aussies are increasingly keen to head overseas and the Gulf is a very attractive destination.

Places like Dubai and Abu Dhabi are playgrounds for the rich and famous and are full of luxury hotels and designers stores – not to mention the gorgeous beaches.

With the Aussie dollar remaining strong, now is a good time for travellers to book trips to the UAE.

As ever, finding the best exchange rates is important and – at the time of writing – one Aussie dollar will get you AED 3.78 in return.
