Queensland is one of the best tourist destinations in Australia thanks to its beautiful beaches and array of fascinating sights such as the Great Barrier Reef.

It is unsurprising that so many foreigners are keen to spend their overseas travel money in the area, as there are so many excursions available in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

However, tourism chiefs are now targeting one type of traveller in particular – wealthy Indian "DINKS" (double income, no kids).

Queensland Tourism chief Anthony Hayes wants to see more high-spending couples aged between 25 and 40 embark on tours down under.

He suggested that people from the Asian country are willing to part with huge sums of cash in exchange for new experiences such as taking a romantic road trip through the province.

"Driving Queensland's scenic routes in a convertible for example has a great brag factor for friends and family back home," he remarked.
