Travellers to benefit from Qantas in-flight entertainment
Aussies who are planning to fly with Qantas will soon be able to use their travel credit cards to buy a wide range of in-flight entertainment packages.
The carrier has launched its Q Streaming pilot scheme, which bosses claim is a world first.
Passengers on board dedicated Boeing 767-300 services are issued iPads and are able to enjoy 200 hours worth of entertainment as they make their way to their destination.
From mid-February, the trial is being expanded so that customers can use their own laptop, smartphone or tablet device to view the material via a Wi-Fi connection.
Executive manager of customer experience Alison Webster said the service has proven to be extremely popular since it was first launched in mid-January.
In December, Qantas chief executive officer Alan Joyce said the airline was "excited and proud" to be the first company in the world to offer these hi-tech services to Aussie holidaymakers and business travellers.
