Website highlights best value for money destinations
Aussies who are looking to secure a holiday that offers the best value for money have been given a few ideas by a leading travel website.
Bosses at Cheapflights.com.au have highlighted the places where Aussies' travel money cards will be at their most powerful.
Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam is the ultimate place to go for a luxury, yet cheap holiday, according to the site.
Other areas that are favourable in 2012 are Bali and Fiji, as the Australian dollar is strong against currencies in these places and there are generally fewer taxes for travellers to pay.
The website's senior site editor Oonagh Shiel said that 2012 is an ideal time for Aussies to venture abroad. "The Aussie dollar and economy are doing better than most, so this is a good year to travel," she commented.
Despite the huge number of affordable Asian holiday locations that are in reasonably close proximity to Australia, recent figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed that more people are now heading to far-flung places like Brazil, the Daily Telegraph reported.
