With the St. George Global Currency Card, you’ll be able to load up to 5 wallets with your choice of 11 currencies (AUD, EUR, GBP, USD, JPY, NZD, ZAR, THB, HKD, CAD, SGD). You won’t have to deal with any fees during the load or reload process, and you’ll also have the benefit of locking in an exchange rate once you come across one you’re happy with.
While the card comes with a foreign exchange fee of 3%, this is only charged when transacting in a currency other than the one loaded on your card, so if you’ve filled the wallets with the right currencies, you should have nothing to worry about.
When it comes to managing your card, the St. George Global Currency Card app is a must. You’ll be able to check your balance, transfer between currencies, and receive push notifications each time a transaction is made.
And if your card is lost, damaged or has fallen into the wrong hands, a complimentary back-up card (with a separate card number and PIN) means you won’t find yourself without funds. Simply cancel your primary card via the app and start using the back-up card instead.
There are no fees when withdrawing from a St.George, Westpac, Bank of Melbourne or BankSA branded ATM while in Australia. When overseas, keep an eye out for Global Alliance Partners’ ATMs, which are available for use, fee-free.
Finally, if you sign up by the 30th of September 2019 via internet or mobile banking and load and convert $1,500 AUD into any supported foreign currency, you’ll receive $50 cashback.
