      I have found the HSBC credit card to be very high interest after the initial low rate time. The staff have not been at all flexible in lowering the rate when I called them to speak about it.       Full review

      HSBC up to 5 years Interest Free on a Classic Credit Card. Great if you use it only for the interest free period. Interest rate on purchases is 2% more than their standard rate, at 23.99% interest pa is at the higher end of the market.       Full review

      I have had my credit card for over ten years with HSBC. In that time access and services have dramatically changed and improve. Due to technology and my use of it. HSBC I guess have been fair enough with me regarding interest rates for me adjusting them when I needed a little breathing space. Or recently changing my card over to a whole new product.Which offered significantly less interest and charges. The only thing that can be frustrating sometimes is I cant always understand the heavy accents at customer service calls.

      The monthly letters notifying of payments always arrived after the due date, so every month incurred late fees. Letters arrived even after I had cancelled this card and paid it out in full for $100s of dollars in interest. The same thing happenen...       Full review

Letters arrived even after I had cancelled this card and paid it out in full for $100s of dollars in interest. The same thing happenened when my daughter had an account with them. The staff are offshore in Malaysia (call centre) and have no idea.

      Worst bank I have ever been with. They suckered me in to a credit card at Brisbane airport, then provided the worst service through offshore call centres hassling me at all hours. I was late in a monthly payment, I rang and told them I would be making a payment and the date, as soon as the payment went in they CANCELLED my card. At the time it was $1000 under the limit. I will never recommend HSBC to anyone in fact the opposite I will tell my friends and famil to run a mile in the other direction.

But no online access has ever been offered to me so I rely on a monthly statement arriving (which it doesn't always) and have no branch anywhere convent or local. Then I received a phone call the day after my account was due "You haven't paid. We know you are a good client who always pays more than the minimum but YOU HAVEN"T PAID this month." Atrocious way to treat good customers - and I had paid on the day but the system was behind reality anyway!

Most often than not when I call them for assistance it costs me a fortune as I only have a mobile phone and have to 'wait in line' to be answered for a very long period of time. It would be better to be able to speak with someone who speaks english well, rather than not so well, I tend to spend a lot of time asking the operator to repeat themselves.
